HIKING THE "G"

On Fridays, Chris gets done with work early so we planned a hike.  This pic is at the bottom of the hike.  Raven was about to fall asleep just seconds away from getting there so we quickly encouraged her to take some pictures.  She woke up immediately!!!  Unknown to her, the camera doesn't work.  It just makes a noise and sometimes flashes.  She loved it.  She snapped pictures the entire way.  She also had her own purse (made into a back pack) because she wanted one too.  It was really cute.  She wanted me to just go by her a back pack like Brennan's before we left for the hike.  Finally, I convinced her that we could turn a purse into a back pack.

The entire gang!!  Don't we look great?
Raven resting on a rock...

We made it!!!  I was so proud of Raven for making it all the way.  She wanted to stop several times and have dinner (two cookies), but we told her that we had to make it to the top to have "dinner."  That was part of her motivation but she is also very competitive and we told her that our muscles have to get really really tired before they will grow stronger and that they were getting stronger each time that we climb and then rest.  That was a strong motivation for her.  The very last part of the hike gets steep again and she wasn't interested in finishing, but when Chris told her that he was going to beat her to the top, she took off running.  She was very happy with herself that she won.  It was a beautiful day for a hike....Oh, if you'll also notice, Raven has the "guide map" in her hand (an old paper from the purse).  We had a great time, she told stories and sang songs. Good times!

Raven threw her hat down when we reached the top and when she put it back on again it looked like this.  She didn't even know it.  It also cracks me up that she played with the camera the entire way.  When she found out that her hat was ripped she was a little worried.  I told her it looks awesome but she didn't believe me.  So I offer to pin it along the seems and she thought that would work.  After the hike, we rushed home to get ready for Robby's graduation/Ashley's birthday dinner at the Pizza Factory.  Later, we attended Robby's graduation ceremony.  We are proud of him!

PLAYTIME WITH RAVEN

Everything Raven did made him laugh. He loves having someone to play with.

We love having Raven over to play.  She is such a sweetheart.  She has this adorable twinkle in her eye.  We love you Raven!!!!

THE BIG HAIR CUT

Well we finally did it!!!  He looks so different.  I think he looks older, but still very adorable.  It seems like you notice his eyes now that, that long blonde hair doesn't catch your eye.  He was very good.  He sat still and just listened to some music as his mother cried with each stroke.  :)  We tried a couple salons, but I didn't want to pay for a child to have his hair cut.  I believe it will be that way until he starts caring about doing his own hair.  Besides, mother's hair cuts make great laughs as you look back on school photos.

PRINCESS RAVEN & PRINCE BRENNAN

Chris got Raven and Brennan ready to surprise me when I came home from the gym.  He introduced them as I walked in.  You should have seen the smile on Raven's face.  She thought it was the coolest thing to pretend to be a princess.  Brennan eventually ripped his off because he couldn't get his other hand out to grab stuff.  Within the last few days, he has become a blanky baby.  He won't let go of that blanket.  It is so funny.

A COUPLE ADVENTURES WITH MOM & DAD

Our brand new pack.  Brennan played with my hair the entire way up.  Once we got to the top we played for a while by the cave entrance and then Chris carried him back down.  I like to carry him up for good exercise and Chris carries him down so that it doesn't hurt my knees.

This was our trip on the Timponogos cave trail.  We just bought this carrier and Brennan loved it.  He is such a trooper!  He talked the entire way up and down.  He really enjoys our outing.  We've also got a bike trailer that he loves.  You can see that he's still got the glare down pretty good.  We love him!!!  He is so cute!!!!

Brennan throwing the ball.  I love this picture because it is his classic body language and facial when he is throwing something.  The ball always flies high and sometimes it even falls back behind him.  At one moment, an object is whizzing across the room and the next it's flipping high in the air like this pic.  So...on guard!!!!

This was an Sunday evening at the park.  Brennan played for over an hour with his stick and his ball.  He really knows how to entertain himself by throwing things.  We're just figuring out that it's not the greatest attribute when we are out to dinner.  I ended up dodging several chunks of food, a fork, and eventually had a bowl of soup knocked into my lap.  Anyway....back to the park.  He loved the park and played and played.

CLEAN UP AFTER SPAGHETTI DINNER

We let Brennan feed himself on this one and I think that over half of the spaghetti was on him and in his seat.  It was so gross, but cute all at the same time.  Anyway, he is such a sweet heart.  He just sat there and let us take pics and clean him up.  Each time we do this though, he struggles to get away from mom and sit in the sink when he sees the water running.  It is quite the joy wrestling him away from running water.  :)

FAMILY BARBECUE...A WHILE BACK!!!

The first week of May, we had a fun barbecue that Angela organized.  It was the first time that we used the fireplace in the back yard.  We had hot dogs, chips and other goodies.  As you can see by the adorable pic of Ethan we enjoyed smores as well.  Thanks Angela for a fun evening.

I MISSED SOME CUTE PICS OF BRENNAN....

Chris thought that he'd get a little creative with Brennan's hair one day.  Brennan didn't seem to mind.  I love the close up because it shows his beautiful eyes.  If only he hadn't reached his hand out and touched the camera.

These pictures were taken in highland a week or two before his birthday!  He is such a joy, even when he is a little stinker.  I love being a mom and Chris is such a wonderful Father!!!!

Our Family Motto

"Come what may and LOVE it!"
